People often ask me why I became a dentist. The answer isn’t found in a résumé; it’s rooted in an experience that shaped my life forever.
When I was about twelve years old, I became seriously ill and walked alone to a hospital seeking help. The receptionist told me the next available appointment was two months away. A physician overheard the conversation, looked at me, and said, "Don’t you see him? He may not make it by then." He immediately treated me, and I recovered. I never learned his name, but I never forgot his compassion. Since that day, I have tried to see every patient as a person first—never just another appointment.

One of the greatest privileges of practicing dentistry for more than 25 years has been witnessing and embracing the remarkable evolution of our profession. I have pursued continuing education throughout the United States and internationally because my patients deserve the very best.
Today, our practice incorporates digital 3D impressions, Cone Beam CT imaging, digital smile design, low-radiation digital X-rays, advanced ceramic restorations, modern root canal techniques, gentle extraction methods, and conservative adhesive dentistry. Technology is valuable only when it truly improves the patient experience. I’ve been practicing long enough to appreciate where dentistry came from, and I’m passionate enough to embrace where it’s going.
More Than a Profession
Dentistry has never been just a job to me; it has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. I have been humbled by the trust of both my patients and my professional colleagues. During my career, I had the privilege of serving on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Dental Society and as Past President of the Hispanic Dental Association. These roles were opportunities to give back to the profession I love and help advance patient care.
Beyond Dentistry
Outside the office, I enjoy black-and-white photography, landscapes, portraits, travel, harmonious architecture, working on cars, and spearfishing. Photography has taught me to appreciate light, balance, symmetry, and detail. Those same principles deeply influence my approach to cosmetic dentistry, where every smile should look natural, timeless, and uniquely yours.
A Review I'll Never Forget
One of the most meaningful reviews I have ever received came from a longtime patient in his eighties who wrote that I had "golden hands." That heartfelt review unexpectedly reached a national audience. While I appreciated the attention, what has stayed with me isn't the publicity—it’s the profound trust behind those words. After more than 35 years in practice, I still believe earning one patient's confidence is the greatest compliment a dentist can receive.
